Begin Again

Do you know this saying? The first time I heard it, its simple yet profound meaning hit me.

You’ve messed up? Begin again. You got off track? Begin again. Something got in your way? Begin again. You’re discouraged? Begin again. The results weren’t what you were hoping? Begin again.

“Begin again” isn’t saying you’re a failure. It’s saying you care enough about yourself to get back up and keep going. You’re not giving up. You’re finding a way to make your life better.

This can apply to many different areas of life, of course. An obvious application is with food. Did something throw you off your plan? Don’t beat yourself up (please, don’t do that). Just begin again.

How about with finances? Was your spending out of control? Begin again. Don’t give up on your financial goals.

Did you say something harsh to a loved one? Go to them, apologize, and begin again.

Long hiatus of no exercise? Begin again. You’ll be glad you did.

You get the idea. We are all human and we make mistakes from time to time. Or we lose focus. It happens to everyone. Don’t let these temporary occurrences define you or discourage you. Just begin again.

You’re worth the effort.

What about you?

Is this a strategy that might be helpful in your life?

Although they still need us, they need us in different ways than they used to. We are turning into a cheerleader, a coach, and a friend, and we still have much support and love to offer our growing children, to be sure.

It’s a Wonderful Life at the Egyptian Theater

In our town of Boise, Idaho, we have a place called The Egyptian Theater. It’s a wonderful old restored theater decorated with pharoahs and gold-gilded Egyptian symbols. It’s kind of awesome. The place seats a bunch of people (1000?).

Coconut Oil: For Health and Healthy Skin

My 50-something skin is, meh. Not so great. Gee, do you think it could have anything to do with the ‘80s when I, with my big ‘80s hair, would lay out in the sun for hours, slathered in Crisco oil?

Tonight, nothing. There is no bit of information I’m burning to share. No cause I’m standing up for. No recipe or healthy hack that I must post-or-die.
